Lofts on Arts Avenue was built at the request of the Stephens Square Community Organization and the Plymouth Church Neighborhood Foundation in order to create affordable ownership opportunities for residents of the Stevens Square neighborhood. Units have very open floor plans, and feature large windows and lots of light. While new construction, the development complements the older surrounding buildings in the Stevens Square community. Gap financing from a variety of sources helped make 24 of the units affordable to those at incomes ranging from 50-115% of area median income. Lofts on Arts Avenue has led a small wave of new development in the Stevens Square neighborhood.
