These townhomes were a critical part of the rebirth of the Marquette block of East Hennepin Avenue, between University Avenue NE and Second Street SE. The block was in decline for several decades and its historic buildings had become virtually uninhabitable. The restoration made the Marquette block a lively place once again, featuring an innovative mix of restored buildings housing businesses, 20 affordable loft apartments, and the new townhomes.

The 20 townhomes were designed to complement the adjacent historic buildings, yet also provide privacy for homeowners within an active urban setting. The five adjacent historic buildings now house Bobino Café and Wine Bar, Taraccino Coffee, and Bruegger's Fresh Bagel Bakery. Marquette and Lourdes Square anchored the renaissance of the East Hennepin neighborhood.
